RSS Feed

The RSS Feed lets visitors to the site view news stories from a variety of sources. As the site administrator, you can choose which categories and news agencies to subscribe to.

What does the RSS Feed look like to visitors?

Since the RSS Feed is a component, it can be added to either the Menu tab or the Member tab. Like all other components, you can name the RSS Feed whatever you like.
  1. Visitors will click on the appropriate tab to access the RSS Feed.
  2. The RSS Feed's content will then load. [ Example ]
  3. All categories you've subscribed to will appear on the left, with the articles for the selected category on the right.

How do I get to the RSS Feed?

  1. Log in to the Admin.
  2. Click on the appropriate tab to get to the RSS Feed.
  3. Click on the appropriate button to bring up the RSS Feed.
  4. The RSS Feed will then load. [ Example ]

Subscribing to a feed

  1. To subscribe to a new feed, click the Subscribe button. [ Example ]
  2. The Subscribe to Feeds window will appear. [ Example ]
  3. Select the category you want from the Categories drop box in the upper right. A list of available agencies and subcategories will appear. Check the box for each feed you want to subscribe to. You can select all of the feeds for a category by checking the Subscribe to all feeds box. You can subsribe to all feeds from a certain provider by checking the box next to the provider's logo. Once you have checked the box for each desired feed, click the Save Feeds button.
  4. A window will appear showing that your subscription has been approved, and the new feed(s) will be added for visitors to see. [ Example ]

Unsubscribing from a feed

  1. Go to the main RSS Feed Page
  2. Click on the Unsubscribe button. [ Example ]
  3. The Unsubscribe Feeds window will appear, with a list of all feeds you have subscribed to. [ Example ]
  4. Check the box for each feed you would like to remove. You can select all of your subscriptions by checking the Unsubscribe to all feeds box. Once you have checked the box for each desired feed, hit the Delete Feed button.
  5. A window will appear confirming that you are unsubscribed, and the selected feed(s) will no longer be available to visitors. [ Example ]
