| Password Manager
The Password Manager section of your Family Website Admin allows you to use passwords to protect your website. File upload and the private Members area passwords can be set. Each component may be "read protected" (viewed only by visitors who know its read password), "write protected" (edited only by visitors who log in using its write password), or both read and write protected.
Here are the steps to set or update passwords:
- Log in to the admin.
- Click on the Admin tab to the left. [ Example ]
- Click on the "Password Manager" button. [ Example ]
- The Password Manager folder will open. All of the parts of your site that can be password protected are listed, including all of your site's components. Scroll down to see the full list. Icons are displayed indicating whether a read password, write password, or both can be set for that part of the site. [ Example ]
- To set a read password, click the book icon. To set a write password, click the pen icon.
- The Set Password window will open. At first, password protection will not be in effect. Click the "Use Password" checkbox to display a text box into which the new password can be typed. [ Example ]
- Type the new password in this box, and then click the "Save Setting" button. [ Example ]
- The Password Manager folder will display a closed yellow padlock icon to indicate that the password has been set. [ Example ]
