File Cabinet
The File Cabinet allows you to manage your files so that visitors can view and upload files.
How do I get to the File Cabinet
- Log in to the admin.
- Click on the Admin tab to the left [ Example ].
- Click on the "File Cabinet" button" [ Example ].
- The File Cabinet folder will now load [ Example ].

Navigating Around the File Cabinet
- The left section displays all Private files [ Example ] and the right section displays all Public files [ Example ]. Everyone will be able to see all public files through the "menu" tab on the left side of your website but members will be able to see all public and private files.
- You can sort each section by clicking on the drop-down menu to sort by name, file type, file size, and upload date [ Example ].
- You will also see how much storage you have used and how much storage the website can hold [ Example ].
- In the File Cabinet folder, the first tab allows you to toggle between "list view" and "icon view" [ Example ]. "List view" will display all of your files in a list, which will display the upload date as well as the file sizes and file names [ Example ]. "Icon view" will display all of your files as a bunch of icons with the file names [ Example ].
- The "reload" tab [ Example ] will refresh the File Cabinet manager window so that you will see the latest changes, such as uploading, deleting, or renaming.

Uploading Files
- Click on the "upload" tab to upload files [ Example ]. A new window will appear [ Example ].
- Click on the "Add Files" button to add files to upload [ Example ]. A new window will appear asking for the destination of your files [ Example ].
- Find the file you wish to upload and then click on the file. If you have multiple files in the same folder that you want to select, hold down the CTRL key and click on the rest of the files. When you are done selecting files, click on the "Add files" button at the bottom of the window [ Example ].
- You will be back at the upload files window. If the files you had selected are correct, you can click on the "Upload Files" button [ Example ] to upload those files to the File Cabinet. Depending on the size of your file(s) as well as your internet connection's upload speed, the upload can take anywhere from 5 seconds to several minutes.
- When the upload is complete, the bottom-left section will summarize which files were uploaded successfully [ Example ]. When you are done uploading files, you can close the upload window.

Moving Files
- To move files between the Private section and the Public section, move the mouse pointer over the file [ Example ].
- Click on the file and hold down the mouse button.
- Drag the file over to the other section [ Example ] and then release the mouse button [ Example ].

Renaming Files
- The "rename" tab allows you to rename files. Click on a file that you wish to rename [ Example ].
- Click on the "rename" button [ Example ].
- A rename window will appear [ Example ]. Type in the new name for your file – only letters and numbers are valid filenames.
- When done, click on the "Rename" button to rename the file [ Example ]. If you change your mind about renaming the file, you may click on the "Cancel" button.

Deleting Files
- Click on the file that you wish to delete, then click on the "delete" tab [ Example ].
- A delete message will appear and will warn you that you are attempting to delete a specific file [ Example ].
- If you are absolutely sure that you no longer need the file on your Family website, click on the "Yes. Delete" button; otherwise, click on the "No. Cancel" button if you change your mind about deleting the file.

Viewing Files
- Find the file you wish to view.
- If you are in Icon View, click on green arrow for your file [ Example ].
- If you are in List View, click on the small icon to the left of your file name [ Example ].
