E-mail Accounts

The E-mail Accounts tab allows you to set up e-mail accounts based upon your domain name. You must register a domain name for your Family Website first. Once you have registered a domain name, the "Register Domain" button will disappear from the Admin navigation, and the "E-mail Accounts" button will appear in its place.

Types of E-mail Accounts
  • A mailbox is a full featured e-mail account whose Internet address is based upon your own domain name. The mailboxes are located on our servers and are accessed via Webmail. The E-mail Accounts folder includes tools to add mailboxes, delete mailboxes, and change mailbox passwords. You may create up to five mailboxes for your domain name.

  • A mailbox alias allows you to create virtual mailboxes that route e-mail to one of your existing mailboxes. You access e-mail sent to an alias by logging in to Webmail using the mailbox's actual e-mail address, not one based on the alias's name. The E-mail Accounts folder includes tools to add mailbox aliases and to delete mailbox aliases. You may define up to five aliases for each mailbox.

  • A forwarder is a way to forward e-mail to an account that is not hosted by us (Yahoo mail, AOL, Earthlink, etc.). To access forwarded e-mail, you will need to access the e-mail account to which the e-mail is forwarded, using your normal methods for accessing that e-mail account. The E-mail Accounts folder includes tools to add forwarders and delete forwarders. You may define up to 20 forwarders for your domain name. Each forwarder can forward to one external e-mail account.
